Walter Ellard, co-founder and president of iDemand Energy Storage (iDES3), a company that manufactures sustainable energy storage systems, began his career as an electrician in 1986.
Soon he became a residential and commercial foreman, and in 2005 began work in the PV-solar industry with one of California’s largest commercial solar installers as a project superintendent. Three years later, as a C-10 electrical contractor, he worked with various solar companies as a B2B contractor and designer.
Co-founder, Sr. vice president, COO
A mechanical engineer with an extensive background in the photovoltaic and construction industries, Raymond Trejo co-founded and serves as senior vice president of iDemand Energy Storage.
For three years prior to that he was a self-employed designer and developer of solar panels, inverters, charge controllers and power storage units. He specialized in creating “off-grid” systems for homes and commercial buildings.
Trejo attended San Diego State University and Palomar College where he studied engineering. He holds a C-10 electrical contractor’s license.
Co-founder, chairman, CFO
Pierre Leroy, co-founder and chairman, has held a number of senior executive positions, including CFO of Deere & Co., (John Deere) and President of two multibillion dollar worldwide divisions. Most recently he served as CEO and executive chairman of Vigilant Solutions. In 2015 he launched a consulting firm aimed primarily at helping entrepreneurial ventures take advantage of the digital revolution.
Leroy is also a current and past member of the Boards of Directors of several large corporations, including Beam, Fortune Brands, United Rental and Capital One Financial.
He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
Cheif engineer, CTO
Saroj K Joshi, P.E., Ph.D., an electrical engineer, is chief technical officer. In this position, he directs and oversees all engineering aspects of the company’s manufacture of sustainable energy storage systems for residential and commercial buildings.
A native of Nepal, Joshi holds three degrees in electrical engineering, a doctorate from Kiev Polytechnic Institute, Ukraine, which he earned in 1986, master’s from Zaparozheye University, Ukraine, in 1982, and an undergraduate degree from the Engineering Institute of Nepal in 1975.
He immigrated to the United States in 1990. In 2006 he received his Professional Engineering license in Electrical Engineering from the board of Professional Engineers, Land Surveyors, California. Prior to joining iDES3, he ran S & P Electrical Engineering Consulting Inc. in San Diego for 12 years.
